I am proud to say that I am the owner of two adult Chinese mantids! They molted last night! A beautiful female and male! Waiting on the third one now! All are brown. Pictures soon to come!
Literally any minute/hour my two L7 mantids could molt in to adults! Abdomens are pumping like crazy!

My deadleaf lobata, Sammy, is finishing up her molt to adulthood and her wings are inflating (what a strange event). :)

CosbyArtYeah it is lol. I've had a few adults but never got to see the inflating until now (I've been photographing the event too).

I have two beautiful L7 females! One molted yesterday and the as I type this status. The male will take a little while. It seems that he injured the upper part of his mouth. (stupid crickets) Seems like he prefers soft body insects like moths and flies. Still eating, so he'll be fine!
Got a new hard drive Saturday and have been busy installing - finally feel like I am getting somewhere with reinstalling everything :)
My female Dead leaf mantis is an adult, got two L2 Orchids male and female.
received a new species from my best buddy, shipped by sticky! Hierodula xishaensis!
A bit of bad news. My mantids are doing fine but one of the L6 males crossed paths with the female and got eaten. So now I have 3 mantids. One male and two females. All three of them are different shades of brown and are beautiful. Sad about the fourth one but have to keep moving.
MantidBroSorry about your loss! But yes, must keep moving on! You still have three beauties :)

3 out of the 4 mantids have made it successfully to L6! Very excited! I think I have two males and two females. Not sure, but just looking at the abdomens that's my thought. Waiting for the fourth one to join the ranks!
We have one that has made it to L6 successfully! I have two more showing signs of molting and the 4th one is doing her own thing. I'm convinced the 4th one is a female!
All four L5 mantids doing well! Eating a lot and expecting a molt within the next few days hopefully!
