Hiya folks, myself and another UKMF member bought what we were told were Plistospilota guineensis by a reputable seller and just by looking at the nymphs we know they werent. Got 3/5 of them to adulthood now and noone on the UKMF have any idea what they are. They've got similarities to a lot of other species and came from a HUGE ooth.

Any help on IDing would be most appreciated. (If it's a new species, bagsy me naming them!)

Quoted from the seller "The eggsac was green, 2" across and from Cameroon"

Yeah everyone's totally stumped! Might try tracking down some entomology professors etc, see if they could help.

Have you contacted Christian or Dracus? They would probably know.

I'm fairly new to who's who on these forums, so havent asked anyone via PM.

Oh ok. Both those people are members of UKMF too. I am sure they would love to be asked. They always seem up for a mystery.

I think several people here are maxed out level 99 mantis lords. Asking an entomology professor who specialized in mantids would be the exact same thing.

One of them is bound to hold that rare mantis id knowledge in their head.

It is really cool looking.
