  2. I invited Yen Saw to join my FaceBook group and OMG he joined. He is like the Mantis Breeder Hero LOL LOL  I'm such a fan!!

I've ordered from him a few times and he very much deserves every good thing said about him.

  3. Today was a great molt day for my collection :)

I have three Thistles - Blepharopsis mendica left from my group of five and all three molted last night with no issues :)  so they live to molt another day :)

Three of my Giant Asian - Hierodula membranacea also decided to molt and also molted beautifully ❤️

    Baby Humble

Baby Humble playing in the water, yes I now know they shouldn't get all wet. This was before I knew anything about mantids let alone Spiny Flowers However even now Humble loves the water and plays in it. I don't get him wet often but when I mist his enclosure sometimes he will get on the floor of it and play in any pooling water LOL
  9. Today I tried to breed Humble & Humor and wow it was an epic fail. Thank goodness for @MantisGirl13 walking me through the process. Sadly there was no connection so at this point still no babies so we will try again tomorrow. Poor Humble was almost eaten several times smh so that was an adrenaline rush, he really tried but the female wasn't having it. So today I learned you need to have a lot of patience for the breeding aspect of this hobby and not to get so attached to the males Thankfully Humble is alive and well but I'm a bit worried about tomorrows try. I will never be able to leave them alone!!
  10. Thank you for the info on the

Rhombodera cf. stallii and the Leaves and Twigs :) it was very helpful.

  11. Before I get into my new cultures, I would like to talk about the cultures I thought had crashed. Of my old cultures, I made two D. Melanogaster and 4 D. Hydei. The D. Melanogaster flourished, are still producing and are what I used to start my two new ones. The D. Hydei to my eyes crashed and all the fruit flies died. When making new ones I decided to keep two of the old crashed ones so I could continue to watch. My biggest curiosity was to see if/when mites devolved. Today while checking my new cultures I give the old two a glance and to my surprise, they were both teaming with babies all adults are dead so I really didn't think I would see this. So I will see if we can get them producing. So more updates to come. On to the new cultures. After figuring out why my old cultures died out, I decided to start again with a new culture recipe. I took out a few of the things I used in my last cultures and added a few new things. I also used a blender this time and hot water. Another change was allowing the cultures to sit overnight before adding the fruit flies. After letting the cultures sit overnight, I noticed they were really runny so after posting and getting the all clear lol I added cornmeal as a thickener. So far the cultures look great and there has been no die off, but it's only been three days. If all goes well I will be doing an update in one week Granny ~
  12. I lost one of my Blepharopsis mendica - thistle mantis l3 nymphs today, it's so frustrating when you have no idea why :(

Blephs aren't so easy. Especially in the later instars. I've lost three at adult molt.

      Sorry for the loss. 😔

Probably because it's a lot easier than feeding mantids! Lol
