Second new species of Litaneutria described with very distinct morphological characters and an isolated, restricted distribution range and habitat.  Sexes are less dimorphic than other members of the genus.  Within the five different collection sites where this species has been collected, no brachypterous males have been found.

Hundreds of Litaneutria specimens, both historical specimens from museums and fresh collection material, have now been imaged and remounted where necessary.  Habitat demarcations that coincide with morphological differences between the species have been revealed, bringing new perspective and contraindications to Hebard’s analysis.

Most of the museum work has been finished and hundreds of taxonomic illustrations have been generated.  The remaining species treatments for this genus should be produced within the next few weeks with the conclusion of the entire project set for 2Q 2018.
