Does anyone know the best practices for avoiding Chinese mantids when trimming bushes? Is there a better time of day or temperature or light level? Maybe run a brush or something over the bushes first? Looking for anything that will help me not chop up my mantids when trimming. Thanks for your thoughts!

Later in the afternoon might be better or evening. Mantises like to be out when the sun is out and shining.

I would also run a brush over it maybe too, that would scare them away so you don't harm them.

Best of luck.

Maybe try lightly hosing down the bushes to alert any mantises?
