Does anyone know how to care for Idolomorpha lateralis, and if they’re communal or not? Also is a 12 inches high mesh cage big enough for a devils flower mantis?

Absolutely, with room to spare, but beware. That mesh can snag up their tarsal hooks, breaking them. Provide a better surface, up top especially.

Hot glue lots of twigs, or even rubber shelf liner material.

Are you talking about metal mesh? I'm going to use a cloth mesh cage rather than a metal one.

All mesh can catch and break the tarsi of any empusid, be it fabric or metal, although metal is worse.

They get grip on metal.

Net cubes can snag them, and if you've seen idolos freak out before, it's easy to see how theyd just yank one off if snagged.

Other empusidae do well with net cubes: gongylus, blepharopsis, empusa.
