Mantis Girl13 was telling me the Mega mantis was one of the heaviest mantises and I found a even heavier mantis in the guinness book of world records. Here is is.

Why is being eggbound bad? Doesn’t that mean more babies?
Eggbound means that although she is heavy with eggs, fertile or not, she is somehow unable to form an ootheca and remains bloated for the rest of her life. Often the unused ooth material hardens in her abdomen, causing death.

I have lost several females to being eggbound. I am glad Sheralynn is doing well with laying ooths. it prolongs her life too
