Roaches

Well, I plunged into the deep end last week and went ahead and ordered some Lobster roaches (no idea of latin name) and plan to breed them so I'm not always buying flies. I'll update when they arrive.

...and it's Nov. 4 with no responses, no processing, and no roaches...*sigh*

...ordered it from the doubleeds website instead. Hopefully that will come through.

...and it did! Got my 200 roaches, am keeping them in a 20 gallon container (or something close to that) with and infrared light to keep em warm. Let the breeding BEGIN  If I knew where my camera was I'd take pics...but apparently I don't. So maybe Christmas

So how are the Lobster roaches going? I've been thinking about getting

some of them (or maybe Dubias) too. Are yours breeding yet? Easy to

work with? Creepy? Lol... :P Just wondering how you're liking them...

I HIGHLY recommend. These guys are just so easy compared to crickets or flies. Unlike the crickets they make no noise, and unlike the flies they can't fly around anywhere. I went out and bought a infrared light for them that keeps the cage at about 80-85 and they're breeding fine. I'd guess I have at least 100 more than I started with. They do climb, but if you get some vaseline and spread it around the inside of the container they can't get past it and don't even try to. they're actually pretty slow moving to, so easy to pick up with tweezers or a plastic spoon =P
