otths mean nothing to be honest, the females will produce these even if not fertile, donest mean it will hatch.
I would say keep them until the female dies and then another month see if they do anything (if you really want to).. but dont expect it to happen ;)
they have a decent innings, but it really depends on how you are keeping them.. diet, temperature, humidity.. I would expect anything from around 3months - 8months though I have heard of them living much longer.
I am feeding mine on standard rose and brambles when I can get it... they wont touch eucalyptus anymore for some reason.
great animals love them, just had my male turn adult right on same day as female!
My last ghost has just turned adult and I am looking to try and breed her but lost my last male recently.
UK based, open to sensible prices or will swap for nymphs if breeding is successful.
Cheers
my ghost is an expert wasp killer so far has had about 5 recently..
but I would be loathe to feed a bumble beed to a mantid since they are in huge decline.
have a look in the "perfect idolomantis setup" thread in enclosures there are some really detailed bits of info there from people that I am planning on following once my tank arrives.
brilliant to watch them develop a colony!
we are breeding red barbed ants at my zoo currently the workers are just starting to emerge great little things.
well the gask mask is purely for photography purposes and belongs to a house mate of mine.. she is doing some project with it and I decided to use it for another..
hoping to set up a photo shop soon online and have a whole range of bizzare pics ;)
not a huge amount you can really do other than spraying them a little and using fine tweezers to help them if they get stuck..
this only seems viable on larger species though from my experience.
totally understand all points, but there is very little I can really do to prove it :(
I assure you I am not trying to wind you up, make a joke etc..
Perhaps when my friend is back from her latest travels or when I can get in touch I can try and get the name of the place where she saw them...
