Anyone in Canada keep milipedes ?

I know a millipede geek on the West coast of Canada. PM me your email address and I will forward it to them.

    ISO: GIANT AFRICAN BLACK MILLIPEDE

They are available if you have the money. Try here: https://ugrwholesale.com/shop/inverts/giant-african-millipede/

    Choctella cumminsi

Very cool looking millis! Not the biggest but certainly nicely colored. Let me know if you come up with some spares!
  4. Hypoponera

    Pill millipedes

    Outstanding!
  5. Hypoponera

    Ophistreptus guineensis

Yes I do. Personally, I have found Spirostreptidae sp 1, 6, and 8 all tend to hang out on the surface.
  6. Hypoponera

    Ophistreptus guineensis

Afraid not. The colony slowly faded away 1 milli at a time. Never saw mating nor found any eggs.
  7. Hypoponera

    Pill millipedes

I've tried the small ones a couple times... failed miserably! !
  8. Hypoponera

    Spirostreptidae sp 6

Wait until you see photos of Spirostreptus servatius! Hopefully I can get some good shots of those this week.

    Spirostreptidae sp 6

Thanks! This should be an easy species for you to get 😀

    Spirostreptidae sp 6

Thanks! They are a good size. Unfortunately, they are no where near the size of an average AGB though. I do have a couple large species that I need to add photos of.

    Spirostreptidae sp 6

Time for a very overdue update! Alas, all 5 of the immatures I had died. It took about 2 years for all to die. Not sure what the problem was.  After several years, I managed to find some more! I was sent 3 males and 3 females, all captive bred adults. So I had high hopes they would do well...
  12. Hypoponera

    Salpidobolus

Not big enough! The males are about 4 1/2" and the females about 5". I was told they would reach 7", but suspect they won't get there. They are a little bulkier then N. americanus.
  13. Hypoponera

    Salpidobolus

It has been a long wait... but we have success! The tank is loaded with babies. Seems they have been around for a while as some are dark and fairly long. Oddly, the adults are now commonly found above the surface. And they all like pumpkin!
  14. Hypoponera

    Ivory millipede

    Very pretty!
  15. Hypoponera

    Narceus/oak millipedes

Very nice!! I don't think I have ever had that species. Hope they do well for you!
