Found a couple Yersiniops sp. today,  I believe they are Yersiniops solitarius but this is my first time seeing them so I cannot rule out Yersiniops sophronicus. If anyone can offer a positive ID I would greatly appreciate it. These individuals were quickly photographed and released so...

10 years late, but I'm planning a trip down to Madera and I was wondering if one can still expect to find unicorn mantises this late in the summer? Also, having trouble finding the Yersiniops mantis in that last picture haha

found this on my tropical milkweed, verified that it is in fact a true monarch and not a queen caterpillar(2 pairs of antennae for monarch caterpillars vs. 3 pairs for a queen)

She was hiding in a small thicket of weeds. I didn't know their range extended to Taiwan.
