Oh yeah, definitely. She was the first to outright refuse to lay on sticks of any kind and we didn't have any putty back then.  I was going to ask this, too. I thought that once they had already been in warmer temps for awhile, the cooler temps would harm an ooth.

I remember reading about it here without diapause ... Yen maybe? We have one ooth we did not give diapause to, so we can see for ourselves! We did ours with 8 weeks. I've read people saying 2-3 months depending on who and where I read it. I want to experiment more with this on the next gen of...

Diapause depends on species. Brunners can still hatch without it, but it will take significantly longer (aforementioned year or so). We have 11 ooths, the first of which was laid around the same time as yours, which had a diapause, and has given us our first (hopefully of many!) nymphs. :)  

Located in southern California. We have one sub-adult and one pre-sub female. Trying to put feelers out now for anyone who might have a male, since we rarely see them.

I make the rounds every night. Ambient humidity here can be unpredictable at times. If there's still a ton of water left from the previous spraying, I don't spray that particular container, but that's rare here.

Well, this was a timely thread! We didn't really expect any of our ooths to hatch for a while. One little lady decided she was ready. I suppose we'll be seeing more of her sisters over time. She happily took the smallest melanogaster we could find in our cultures. Last year we had gotten a...

... I didn't even think of that. We have about a dozen or so from our brunner and I've been wondering about this in general. They aren't due to start hatching until at least May-ish, and we have plenty of springtails, but still. Alternatives are good to ponder.

Most nurseries or garden centers will have small bags of vermiculite. Or online if you prefer.
