Hatching (?) my first ooth

I got a S. Carolina ooth to try and hatch out... how long does it usually take?

It's in a terrarium in the bathroom (my house is generally too cold, getting down to 65 or 68 at night) and I'm just ... waiting.

Carolina ooths are supposed to have an overwintering period I believe.

Wellllll, it really all depends. First off, you want someone who actually knows what their talking about. However, I believe overwintering (aka fridge time) lasts from late fall to early spring.

If you got it from me, it was wintered. Should hatch in about 5 weeks.

Carolina mantises need overwintering time otherwise they might not hatch properly. Generally the ootheca should be in the cold for at least 2 months or so. They can hatch without overwintering but will be far fewer mantises and they may be sickly.
Best to overwinter them in the fridge for a few months and take them out in the early Spring, that is in March. Or you can overwinter them outside in natural habitat such as in a garden. Of course if the ooth is outside it is prone to parasites and hungry animals like squirrels that for some reason think they are tasty.
Or if the ooth was already overwintered it should be fine to hatch in a month or so.
