can i feed a beetle to my chinese mantid?

do you think she would eat a round looking yellow and black stripped beetle with a hard shell? i try to catch her wild bugs (i dont spray) instead of just giving crickets all the time. she ate two grasshoppers yesterday that i caught her. ;)

freeing my two nymps into the wild concerns

i can get some opinions on if my mantids will be able to survive on their own after i release them soon? i feel they only know me feeding them and living in their little enclosure. i am wondering if letting them go in the weather and open air will shock them and they wont be able to survive...
