I bought some BB spikes a couple months ago, thinking I could just pupate and hatch them myself, and failed miserably. I'm still not 100% positive I didn't throw away 250 pupating maggots, but the sight and stench was just too much for me to handle. I think I managed to get half a dozen flies...

They are a beautiful species. My next endeavor is to try and determine gender. I've been scouring this forum and elsewhere but still am not 100%. It looks like mantidkingdom.com has some more in stock (they sell out super fast) so I am trying to figure out if I should chance purchasing another...

Dr. Mantis Toboggan molted last night! He is now sub adult like the rest of the gang, which means the everyone else is getting suuuuper close to their final molt! Wahoo!
