    Ghost breeding?

Would a bottlefly and a fruitbfly in the past week suffice for the male? The female’s been given a mealworm daily.

    Ghost breeding?

I think that’s all I can do at this point. I saw him try to connect and he almost did but the little flanges on his abdomen got in the way...would she be ok? Would she try to eat the male? The biggest container I’ve got is a 40 oz container. I’ve fed her a mealworm everyday since I got her.

    Ghost breeding?

Ok tried introducing him to her tonight and he’s on her but he’s made little to no attempts to try and insert. Should I wait a little bit longer? I’m mostly concerned about losing the male before it’s too late, but the female doesn’t seem to mind him. How long does it usually take for ghosts to...

    Ghost breeding?

Interesting never heard that before. Anyways by now she should be mature but I’ll continue to fatten her up. Also, for this particular male, how long does he usually take to connect with the female?

    Male ghost suddenly started flying

I had raised the temps of my ghosts yesterday to try and get the female to allow the male to mate with him but I removed them after I was told that she still needed some time. However, today, I noticed that my male ghost was a lot more skittish than usual and I even had to chase him around my...

    Ghost breeding?

Thank you! Also, the female is only 3 weeks old, would she be ready to lay an ooth this early? I don’t know if my male would be able to last that long then...

What is your opinion on net cages?

Hierodula will do fine but I mean nymphs. I don’t think they can get a good gripnon the netting and it’s likely that due to their weight they could fall easily.

    Ghost breeding?

Thank you all for your help! Also, it seems that he keeps trying but I was told that the female is unwilling/won’t let him mate with her and that I should wait a couple more says/a week. I hope that this doesn’t sound too dumb but would it be ok to still try mating them? Also, how long do male...

    Mystymantis mantises

Do you plan on breeding the gonatista? If so, I'd love to buy some nymphs/ooths from you if you have extras.

What particular stagmomantis sp is this? I’ll take any extra ooths.

    Mantis had a seizure?

The mantid's "pupil" will continue to watch and stare at you hours after its death. It's not really something that they can control, like our own pupils. I had a frozen, pinned specimen that continued to "stare"at me for an entire week after before its eyes just fogged over.

What is your opinion on net cages?

I would stay away from net cages for larger species like heterochaeta.

Is it OK to use Eucalyptus sticks in a Ghost Mantis Enclosure?

Should be fine, just make sure that none of them are from pines/conifers and that they don’t have any pesticides on them.

Kritter keepers within a large tank

That seems a bit too much imo, I would save that setup for idolomantis or some rare species.

    Heterochaeta care?

So low humidity, moderate temps, and non-heavy feeders basically? Sounds relatively simple enough, it'll definitely be less costly for me to feed them. How does breeding work for these guys? Is it difficult or the relatively easy?

    Heterochaeta care?

I just recently acquired an l2 heterochaeta sp. I’ve heard that they are a bit difficult to care for and I’d like some care tips/info on them. Thanks!
