    First Time Mating (Chinese Mantis)

I have an unmated female budwing that I thought was going to burst from being so big. Within 4 days laid 2 huge ooths. Back to normal after that but I was worried for a long while. So keep positive thoughts and let nature lead the way.

bad molts- what did I do wrong?

Yeppers, get the glue gun now. Some practice on hot glue and you will be sold. So many uses building habitats. Wish I had started using one years ago.

    How much to feed L3/4s

When I feed field crickets I take off the large legs and serve up the rest. If cricket is still there an hour or so later, out it comes. Now that it is getting warm here, time for all wild caught feeders. Moths, flies and crickets. Yummers!

May I suggest a forum search. There are many threads dealing with this problem. There is a balance between the yeast and the mold and the flies.

    I Got Another Mini Mantis

Interesting the variables that show if you raise enough to get comparisons. I would imagine in the wild the really small would not make it to adult under most cases. Waiting as patient as I can for pics.

    Fresh Adult

I love the difference in the shapes of the leaf pattern on the legs. Males seem more "spikey" than the females.     But then again I have only seen one male compared to 5 females. Wonder why the difference? Yep the antennae of the males are awesome!

    Depressed Mantis?

I have notice with each molt, the mantis seemed to take a bit longer to complete the whole process. Shedding the exoskeleton is just the part of the changes we can readily see. Think about all that is going on inside with all this new space to fill. Adult males take a while before they are able...

    Mis-moult First Respond Kit

Lol! Did I mention this being a good thing?    Just asking how far you are thinking of going?  Spider silk for closing thread? Agreed logistics and scheduling of molts would be a draw back.
