    Artificial Pollinator - Japan

Headline:  3 killed 14 hurt 5 missing         interstate highway closed till batteries run out. Two large transports collided catastrophically releasing their cargo of 2 million robotic pollinators headed for the almond trees in California today. How long does it take for a ghost mantis to enclose after a molt to adulthood?

    Can my mantis molt?

I got lucky enough to see my lone male molt into adulthood.  Almost panicked when I realized he was facing the wrong way and would not have room to inflate wings. Quick trip outside with dog and when I had returned he had turned 180 degrees and had plenty of room. Figured hey they have been...

How long does it take for a ghost mantis to enclose after a molt to adulthood?

@crabbypatty+ @Ratmosphere Thanks for the answer and question. My first of five females molted to adult with ruffled wings. With only one male I was concerned about breeding her. After a few of the other females are mated I will try her for breeding. Figured this subject might come up before I...

    Setting up my mantis vivariums

Nice. will be interesting to see how the plants grow and fill in.     My only concern is the beautiful rocks. Not the softest landing surface for a mantis, imho.

    Artificial Pollinator - Japan

LoL   Found out that the moth I saw was a Hemaris thysbe -hummingbird clearwing moth-- I was really lucky cause they are not that common here in Arkansas. Just so many shades on the rather full body. Just a vague idea of pattern on wings, they never stopped moving.

    Hello from Fl

@LoveSticksI would strongly advise caution when dealing with regulatory agencies. Just my opinion based on prior experiences of myself and others known to me. PS  did not involve mantis.

Do different mantis species have a different smell?

Ha ha!   I can see it now:  no, no, no, opps got a smell, no, no, no. Wait was the one that smelled strongly, dead and decaying? was that the smell?     LOL Aye, sure will if we find anything mantis related. Do different mantis species have a different smell?

The question was in reference to training a dog to hunt and "point" mantis. As it was a beginning of a thought of a possible course of action, I did not reference why I was asking after finding nada on forum search. Would have shocked me if I did find something on this. My service dog, Sabaca...
