    Haania sp. (Moss Mantis)

Yeah, the wing buds are pretty pronounced. He may be a week or two ahead of the female which shouldn't be a problem. Keep your fingers crossed.

    Haania sp. (Moss Mantis)

The male molted again. I knew he was getting ready so I kept an eye on him all day but these guys molt so fast I turned my head and he was done! Son of a...

    Haania sp. (Moss Mantis)

Yeah, you may have trouble getting fruit fly cultures. I'm pretty sure the nymphs will be so small they need springtails.

OOTHS FOR SALE: Rhombodera cf valida & Euchomenella heteroptera

Rhombodera cf valida $70/ooth Large shield species. Not common in the US. Aggressive hunters and very hardy so long as crickets are avoided. Personality can be a bit stand-offish at first but more friendly as handling continues. Hatches average around 300 nymphs. COBRA MANTIS!!! (photos &amp...

Can S. Pretiosa be kept communally?

I never had any cannibalism with mine but I only kept a few generations and small numbers. If you give enough space and constant food you shouldn't have an issue keeping them communally.

    Raw beef and bananas

I never fed any meat but they do love banana. I tried organic apple last week and some ate that too. Of course they really love organic honey if you haven't tried that yet. Most will grab the toothpick and hold it while eating the honey. Videos: Banana Honey

    Haania sp. (Moss Mantis)

Hmmm... I will consider this but I was planning on selling them for a nickle a piece to be used as feeders. :sorcerer: I figure that's only about half the price of crickets so I'll get a lot of customer$ and make my first million in no time! :euro:

    Haania sp. (Moss Mantis)

I didn't buy them. So far, as can be seen in the first video, they eat hydei fruit flies.

    Haania sp. (Moss Mantis)

Thanks. Details below... I initially had a larger enclosure prepared but when I found out I was only getting a single pair I decided to try out a modified 80 oz cup. It's a pain but I like to cut a big window on each side of my large cups and glue in fine screen. It's especially important in...

    Hierodula bipapilla nymphs hatch

I have no idea. Don't know much about the species. Was given a few ooths. Looks like you are correct. The names are synonyms. http://mantodea.speciesfile.org/Common/basic/Taxa.aspx?TaxonNameID=1183884 Thanks for the heads up!

    Hierodula bipapilla nymphs hatch

Disappointing isn't it? Sometimes I feel if I don't keep a culture going they will be gone.

    Hierodula bipapilla nymphs hatch

Thanks! Yeah, they are a very light color compared to other nymphs. They're more yellow than green which you can see in the photos because the lighting was better. They also hatched, pulled out of the egg case and ran up to dry faster than any species I've documented so far. It was hard to keep...

WANTED: Male Cilnia humeralis (Wide Armed Mantis)

I'm afraid my culture may be at its end unless I find a male. My last male died without mating my female. If there are any males out there PM me and we can work something out.

    Riem's Photo Booth!

Wow, that's an unusual build. Extra long raptors. Will be interesting to see how it looks as it matures.

    Metallyticus violaceus hatch

They take a very long time to mature and I slowly lost them one by one. Didn't even get any adults. Oh, well. You can't win them all.

    Haania sp. (Moss Mantis)

Sometimes I just stumble onto things. Other times people find me through my videos and photography and offer me things. That's the case here. There's a big advantage to producing content others around the world can enjoy. My YouTube channel got over 200,000 views from Taiwan alone last month. It...
