    the species that saved me

no. I am pretty sure CERTAIN spiders like orb weavers do have a "final" molt like insects do there's also probably an upper limit to how many times something like a tarantula can molt in its lifetime, especially if it's a male

    Molting concerns

hi there so I want to ask a few questions 1: what instar is she at? generally, older nymphs take a bit longer to initiate/complete the molt cycle than younger nymphs 2: what is the temp/humidity? warmer temps tend to speed up the process but excessive heat can cause issues too

    food options for mantids

I have reared bottleflies and I have a few things to make you aware of 1: adults require a LOT of protein in the diet before they're willing to mate and lay eggs. Milk mixed with some fruit is a really good option for this. they'll feed on the milk proteins for a week or so before they'll mate...

    the species that saved me

Diarrhea isn’t always cause for alarm in an animal. Now, it generally is a symptom of a serious problem. In most cases, an animal has diarrhea because it’s sick. Maybe it has a virus or a parasite that’s shed in its feces. Maybe it’s not absorbing the water from its colon properly. In...

    European Mantis Care.

I'd recommend a thin layer of moist vermiculite or something, but be aware that without standing water misted over the surfaces for the nymphs to drink from, they'll rapidly dehydrate and die

    the species that saved me

so I'm writing a book, and I figured y'all may want to see some of it in advance! so here's an excerpt: Chapter 1: Actias luna Moths make me tick. So much so that I think if I lost them as a special interest, I’d fall apart. They are interesting to me that 3 of them made the list. Well, 1 is a...

    European Mantis Care.

    1. just be sure the paper towel stays slightly moist 2: The best success I had with rearing these was to put a small number of nymphs in a large net cage with a living plant. gut-load your fruit flies and mist the nymphs regularly. there's a quite high die-off with these

Two different Orchid mantis strains are not interfertile

I have not had this experience. I've bred dozens of females successfully without any respect to where they or their mates hailed from i think people provide them inadequate nutrition which is what's causing the fertility issues

Class Euphyllophyta This is the group most plants belong to. These are plants with true leaves. True leaves are extensions of tissue that are basically more developed than the primitive photosynthetic stem bits of the lycophytes. By producing organs specifically for the purpose of...

hey everyone, I'm writing a book! Well, 2, but the one I want to talk about here is a book about my perception of the world and its life. I am writing about 100 (or more) species I've met along my journey here, and how I feel about each one of them. I do not know when it will be finished, but I...
