Yes she is an adult. I would suggest giving her some grasses in which to climb on within the cage and perhaps attaching some vegetation to the screen lid.

Is this normal??
Yes normal. Most captive mantids hang from the lid. Mantids are generally sit-and-wait predators so they don't always move much.
