I never paid much attention to this "calling" behavior. Mantids can mate multiple times. I don't know the specifics of how the eggs are fertilized but it would make sense to mate with many males to increase genetic diversity. 

Some species have staggered hatching.

Looking for someone to assist me with a mantis exhibit at Bugfest in Raleigh, NC on September 15. You would need to be there from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Lunch and snacks are provided as well as the newest Bugfest T-shirt.  https://naturalsciences.org/calendar/bugfest/

Mantids don't have blood how we think of blood. They have hemolymph and it isn't red.  Sometimes they just drop dead like anything else including you or me. She sounds too young to have been egg-bound. Maybe got too hot?

A cricket didn't kill your mantis.  How long had she been an adult? Perhaps she is egg-bound?  Did she display any signs of illness prior to death? We need more information. 

You don't need to witness this behavior at all. If the mantis has been an adult for a couple weeks or longer she should be ready for mating. If she is super aggressive to males, she may not be ready quite yet. 

Depends on what shipping method. If I order Express mail I expect it the next day. If I order Priority mail I expect in two days. That said, Priority mail can take three days to some locations. A good seller will send a tracking number. 

Would need a better picture to really help you.  I have a simple guide on here but I need to fix the pictures. Just count the segments starting with the first one nearest the legs. If there are six it's a female. It helps to let them get a little size. 

Should be just fine. 74-77 isn't really all that much warmer than what I consider room temperature.
