    Why is my mantis bleeding?

Yes fireflies are no good... Certainly the problem. Try hand feeding honey to help him get through this. I quit feeding my PMs wild feeders long ago... To many chances for pesticides. Especially flying insets as the cover a lot of ground and might happen across poisons. Keep us posted ?

    Ghost trouble

Heat and humidity is your best chance at firing up the drive to mate. For less than $10 you can get a 80 or 100 Watt bulb and a clip on reflector that would do the trick... With a wet medium in the cage it will warm up nice and raise the humidity. Best advice I can offer.

    Ghost trouble

Put papertowls on the bottom of the net cage and spray them with a lot of water. Put the cube under a heat lamp and be sure to have flies available so they don't get hungry and turn on one another. I agree male Ghost only last 6-8 weeks... Short lived. Good luck

    Violin mantis or giraffe mantis

Both are great... Violins need 80-90f heat and only flies, no Crickets, net cube is ideal as they can't climb and should have proper ventilation... All really do! Mist indirectly once or twice a week. They get most of their hydration from flies. Be prepared to manage Blue Bottle flies as a...

I think my mantis is dying??

As mentioned before your enclosure is very nice but appears limited on ventilation. You really need to have air flow through the enclosure. With just the holes in the top it vents but it does not circulate well. Problems that can occur have to do with mold. It looks like the paper towel is wet...

    Ghost dying

Right... 2 months is very good for a male Ghost... 6 weeks is usually what I seem to witness. Ghosts are great! You provided him a great life. Any other mantis?

    Molting Issue - advice sought

@Digger wow I have some questions for you about the enclosure design using the stocking material, but I don't want to hijack this thread. I use a similar technique but different. I will start a new...

    I got my first Mantis!

Agreed on removing the substrate and going with easy to change papertowls. Best method for enclosure hygiene, especially in the long run. To really do it right you should add some type of fabric for traction on at least one of the four sides inside the enclosure. Some species can cling to the...
