    Urgent: Horrible mismolt

Just a chance question... Do you recall misting your mantis within a few days off is molt? I figured out the hard way that this will often lead to Mis-molts where they get stuck in their skin and then they fall and get disfigured!

    Rhombodera Basalis female sick

@crabbypatty the only thing not mentioned in this thread is MOLD! Poor ventilation, water and moderate to low heat and mold can show up fast. Hard to see but definitely leathal. Sorry for your lose CP! I've read how fond you were of these ?

    Water Scale

I have also used white vinegar as well for years. I splash a lid full on the bottom of the acrylic enclosures with the mantis still inside. I let it sit for 30 seconds and then wipe with a soft spong. Vinegar will not hurt your mantis. If course never spay on them, but the fumes never bother...

Want to prevent mantis bad molt

Yes as long as it can evaporate before mold grows... Mold the other PM killer☠️ I have also concluded to NEVER spay directly on the mantis! I know some reading this will disagree. I used to do it too! I found if the mantis is within a couple of days from molting and you spray the mantis it...

Want to prevent mantis bad molt

I use thin sticks spanning the top of a net cube. I agree with @crabbypatty humidity is just as important. I run a humidifier under my net cubes every or everyother day. I lost my first beautiful Brunner's on its adult molt years ago too and ever since I have been critically protective of...

    Blepharopis Mendica Sexing??

The picture above from Ranito is clearly that of a male. You can see the antennae are very thick! I agree the abdomen identification is a good way to differentiate male from female. But difficult to capture on the camera. See if you can take some close-ups of the headshot as I suggested and we...

    Blepharopis Mendica Sexing??

I know it's tough on a mobile phone camera. Try getting super close and try to get a head shot. The second pic looks like male antenna. At that size you can definitely tell by the antennas if you have a male and female to compare between. The male antenna are just black compared to female...

    Hypsiocorypha gracilis

I originally got four nymphs. One surviving female made it to adulthood. I never could find a mate for her. She just passed away three days ago! They are called The Wizard mantis. I could not find anyone else that had this incredible species that was able to successfully breed them. What a shame...

    Moonlight mantids

I saw the video recording. It was a vulgar rage / rant left on one of his customers  voicemail  that  was trying to get an update  on a mantis they had ordered  for their  young child .  The child was very anxious  and  the time elapsed was excessive .  I believe Kevin the owner of moonlight...
