Violin mantis or giraffe mantis
Yeah, I have never raised a giraffe mantis, but I have kept many violins! I would definitely recommend them, they are some of the most interesting mantises I have ever kept!- Sarah K

LOL.....I guess I am not really sure about the answers to any of those questions! But I have theories. ;P Honestly, when sending them out, people don't always report to me if they have issues, so I always assume everything was fine with the order. How many flies to feed an L5 mantis
I feed my L5 Carolina about 4 flies every 2 days. They seem to do well with that.- Sarah K

Hi
Welcome! It may be okay to jump to house flies from melanogasters, it really just depends on the mantis, some are more adventurous than others. Definitely give it a try, I switch most of my mantids from hydei directly to blue bottles, and most of them are fine with that transition!- Sarah K
