    Paralyzed mantis?

@izbiggs Oh no, perhaps he's sick then. Mine was acting like that but he was very old. Aww, I'm so sorry, sounds like you were doing everything right in regards to the feeding. Sometimes you can do everything right and they still fall ill. Is he still acting strange? You should isolate him from...

    Dealing with a bad molt

Can it still hang? I've had one nymph missmolt and I had to cut away the antenna and raptor tips. She's now a grown adult with one short antenna, she regrew her raptors just fine. I've never had a molt where they fall and I need to grab their soft bodies. I've always come home to already...

    Mantid Fear or Warning

@Sticky pheromones can't be detected by us. It's most likely excess fluid that escaped during a display.

    Dealing with a bad molt

I've never had a bad molt, but I've been advised to place them extremely gently on their lid so the can hang and dry properly. Their legs might end up bent and deformed if placed at bottom. I had someone recently post about having a bad molt on my Facebook mantis page, it was the final molt, it...

    Adult Orchid Female not eating

Try cutting up a superworm or dubia roach and putting the gooey part on her mouth. Have you let any flies loose in there?

    Mantid Fear or Warning

Hmm, well I do notice that mantids will stretch their abdomen when displaying. Perhaps some excess fluid escaped when she stretched out.

    Best Feeder Supplier

You can ask your local reptile store, mine has fruit flies and dubia roaches. Petco has fruit flies, mealworms, and superworms. Bugsincyberspace.com and panterrapets.com have house flies and blue bottle flies. I buy a variety for my little pets. Usually for younger mantids you need fruit flies...

    Best molting surfaces?

I give mine a selection. I cover the top with organza, then add patches of tulle, skewers, pieces of rough wood, and shelf liner. They choose what works for them.

    Other mantids causing stress?

Mine are all on the same shelf too, I haven't had any problems. If see one constantly going crazy because it spots another mantis, then yeah, you should move it. Otherwise it should be ok.

Is USAMANTIS good to buy from?

usamantis.com is owned by Yen Saw, usmantis.com is owned by Craig Baker. Very confusing, but please look up any reviews before buying from anyone. ?

    Will nymphs eat ants?

I would not recommend ants. Try calling reptile stores near you and see if they carry fruit flies.

    Mantis front foot clipped

Yeah, if he's still a baby it'll grow back. If he's an adult it's no big deal either, they don't need a leg to eat, haha. It should be ok, just keep it fed and happy.
