The males do have a higher percentage of Droop-butt than females , with a longer narrower abdomen . I haven't seen it too often in the Mantis Religiosa which are close in stature to the Tenoderas . Droop-butt isn't fatal and I haven;'t seen it as harmful ........ S

You have a great idea in the angling on the shedding walls and allowing the exoskeleton to harden .

Quite the season for ''Droop - Butt'' , I have an inordinate amount of Tenoderas that  have developed this condition. One L4 was fine then moulted into having Droop -Butt . It doesn't only happen to mantids from hanging upside down long periods;......  S

There are plenty of bitting , stinging and spraying insects that are dangerous and/or painful . I still say that mosquitoes are the most widespread , disease carrying and just about the most annoying insect. ........  S

Quite interesting these mantids , so much depends on feed , humidity and temperature . I hatched a Tenodera ooth around the same time as a friend , comparing progress I found mine at L2 While theirs were L 4's. All the way up I wondered why the difference , turned out in was heaT and plenty of...

I have never formulated my own drosophila food just for the reasons talked about here . When I started in the fruit fly culturing I bought the 3 kg. of Repashy Superfly , certainly alot of food but 3 scoops per culture , no muss , no fuss , no mold. Anyone in for the long haul really should...
