My longest incubation was a Tenodera S. @ 7 Wks. I have never hatched any ooth later . That being said I have an ooth rite now just over 8 wk's that I am waiting on . The quickest was also a Miomantis Paykulii ( Egyptian Pygmy ) 17 days from the day laid , very fast ........ S

Certainly is , I have the table out there . I can uncap a container without the mad stampede of drosophila out the top.  Even in summer I don't worry about the escapees they aren't inside............. S

Depending on the species some won't eat the first 2 to 3 days. I have let the go 5 to 7 days , after that the mortality and cannibalism rate goes up ............ S

This time of year is a breeze to wrangle drosophila , I take the culture out on the deck instantly  they are quite manageable . Then decant  in the amount of flies needed for a couple days , no escapees . I build feeder doors in my mantid apts.  for ease of access.

Hy & Welcome ........... those Miomantis ootheca don't need to be fertilized to produce , just all of the nymphs will be females . It's called parthenogenisis..................  S

I have a love for all my mantids even if they are unnamed , when one in the group has a mismoult I struggle with that one the same as a named favorite . Rite now I have one L5 nymph remaining from a whole ooth hatch and it doesn't have a name ........... S

Can't name all 50 to 300 mantids on the ranch , I do always have favorites .  ''Greeny'' is one  , there is a ''Leaper '' , ''Flyer '' and others named particular to their personalities or attributes . The rest are just the ''Choir '' ............... S
