We have a pet store in Vernon that I have asked for F.F's , they don't stock them but ordered from a supplier . The next week I went back and they had a culture in for $15.95 . Problem it was dead , I have thrown better cultures out . The staff kept telling me that the white spots were eggs ...

Quite difficult to contain one's enthusiasm when you get an ooth from someone . I have found that climatizing the ooth for a month in a cool basement or shop ( 10 to 12 c ) then incubating them is a good start . You will know it has been dormant for a couple months at least ....  Serle

I have had some good results with Religiosa (Europeans) but the last ooth did not gestate any . Presently I have one fresh ooth incubating and one diapausing , I will send out the results....... S

hy Randy , you really don't have substrate in a drosophila culture , just food at the bottom and a perch above for the flies to sit & breed. . I like excelsior because it is clean , bio-degradable and free . ( I get it from my local liquor store )   Beautiful looking culture you have ......... S
