Yeah, I heard they are hard to find. I think you are right, they are parasitic to spider eggs (wolfspiders, I think). They are so cute. I wish you luck in finding them. 

I'm not sure this helps you but... I just bread my pairs and one is successful. The other pair tried many many times but no connection that I saw. It could have happened at night, who knows. The non-connected pair is still in the mesh cage after 2 weeks, orbiting each other but no attempts...

I find mating the Spineys weren't an issue. Orchids were harder for me.

I never did but my little kid tried to hold one of my big females while I was in another room and my big female was not having it. Unfortunately, my kid picked the most aggressive, super old and cranky one out of the bunch. Little fingers, stilled shock, screaming and some blood ensued.

I hope you find a watcher for your pets. I have had a few babysitters but I'm not surprised to come home to a house full of loose flies and a significant loss of my favorite species. It's tough to find a good caretaker that loves the inverts as much as you.

Definitely not communal. The females are very aggressive predators.

You can try to use some string and tie it to her abdomen and leg when its molt time. Never tried it but I would given the circumstance. Good luck!
