I think all you need to eliminate them is fresh substrate in sealing containers like the sterlite gasket bins or  5 gallon buckets.  Regular fine screen or mesh small enough to keep out the adult moths out is all thats needed. Maybe putting a trap in each one incase a few stray larvae make it in...

Cool, pink toe babies would be so fun. Mine was really tame I used to take mine everywhere with me on my shoulder, and it roamed my home freely. I wish you luck with breeding it!

Wow, lucky you. You can pop em in the fridge, if you want to keep em from hatching too fast. The larvae are fine to use too.

BSF are good to feed mantids, the nice part being they dont fly very fast so escapes arent as much of a problem as other flying flies. Plus I havent seen any other large fly's for sale in Canada yet. wax moths are another option here for flying insects, some say they shouldnt be a staple due to...

yeah when raising for meat they usually harvest em at 2 mos old. Here's one of my flock, I expected fast growth but, it seems a little weird seeing a creature develope so fast. Just over 2 weeks ago this was an egg that weighed 10 grams!

Thats an interesting question. I bet some mantids would happily eat them when you have extra, and the bright colours would probably be great for drawing their attention. I'd be interested to see how it goes :) a video of mantis hunting brightly coloured shrimps would be cool too ;)

Yes, they do put on a bit more weight after that but not very much.

These little birds are quite fun and are growing fast! 

If you dont get rid of them easily, you might try predatory mites, they gobble up pest mites. Im getting some Hypoaspis miles to add to all my enclosures and I plan to add some to ff cultures to see if thats an efficient way to solve the grain mite issue. They can be annoying for sure..Good luck:)

So they are growing pretty fast here are a couple pictures of the same ones from last week. What I plan to do when they are grown up?  Eat quail ..eggs for breakfast, and when spring comes probably move them into a green house, where they can run and scratch around for bugs etc.  Also...
