Okay so I found a wild male and female European mantids and I'm trying to mate them. Like before when I had Chinese, the male would get one but never connect. This male is doing the same. He's tried but never actually connects. It seems like this is always happening to me and I'm not sure why

So I was scrolling through some photos on this mantid forum and saw different species successfully mate. Didn't know that was a thing or if it even is. Would the ooth hatch? Just curious because I've never seen anything like that.

So I have a Chinese male and female mantis and they are almost ready for mating. When she lays her ooth what do I do? Should I just keep it out in room temp or refrigerate it so it can simulate winter? I've never bred mantids so I don't know what to do

I've heard that ghost mantids like to mate at night. Maybe some prefer eating at night?

I've haven't been bitten but almost. I have an adult female and they are just thinking about eating lol. The way I picked her up made her think my finger may have been food haha. Maybe when picking up do so slower. And make sure not to pick them up with just one finger as I did.
