I certainly wouldn't bet on it being an actual legitimate case. I think the odds of a rogue male living in your attic and sneaking in for some night nookie through the air ducts would be higher - and that's not to say either is probable at all :P

Yes always give store bought crickets at least a couple days eating nutritious food before serving them up. A week or more if you can make it that long. My Rhombodera female fancied throwing up for a while but never acted strange otherwise and kept eating and drinking... she would smear it...
