Ive put ooths in the fridge before but once i tried hatching them they never hatched. I cut the ooth open and the eggs were dried up. I think because there is no moisture in the fridge. Plus not much oxygen. Id tie mine to a window screen over winter lol.

I think the Idolos might become inebriated as well...! I'm not sure I'd be willing to risk that personally. I'm not sure how that would effect a mantid/mantis. I don't trust bees and wasps at all... one bit my Idolos claw and wouldn't let go! They have strong mandibles.

After molting, mantids don't usually eat for a few days, because they're too weak and new. It's like a baby eating steak lol.

I bought what was labeled a Stagmomantis carolina ootheca and it ended up being a Tenodera angustipennis ootheca. Those oothecae are also similar in appearance. All species are pretty cool though.lol

You're welcome! They would hatch in about 1 - 2 months. They hatch quicker if they're kept warm.
