Feet falling off, humane euthanasia, and other things

So first off I would like to ask if anyone has ever had feet fall off a mantis? I've had quite a few, most all s. Limbata, and sometimes I'll have ones who just lose their feet. For no reason. They aren't cut or bitten, they just fall off at the lowest segment of the leg... I've attached photos...

    Do Grasshoppers Go Dormant?

I've never kept grasshoppers but I just found two nuzzled in my bike helmet. They were obviously alive and reacted to touch but didn't try to escape. I set them in the sun to let them warm up and convinced them to leave a bit later. Do they go dormant or something? It's winter here and very cold...

    URGENT Ooth help!!

My Sp. Limbata female, Honey, is currently laying on ooth. The issue is it's in contact with both the stick she's on and a leaf from a fake plant. Is it safe to pull the plant away without damaging the ooth?? I need an answer fast before it dries and is stuck to both objects.

    Oldest wild caught sp. Limbata?

It's probably not a world record or anything, but I just find it really cool that my 2 wild caught sp. Limbata are still thriving. I have 2 females, Honey and Francesca, and they're both approximately 10 months. I know mantids kept in captivity live longer than wild ones, so it isn't a surprise...

    First Ooth

Alright so I've been keeping wild mantids for nearly 6 years now with great success, but I've just recently bred mantids for the first time. The first mating with Donovan and Honey went wonderfully (25 hours .. lol), but the second was less fun. Francesca completely devoured poor Donovan :(...

    Mantis had a seizure?

Hi. So I have what I believe to be a male Chinese mantis. He's an adult, likely near the end of his life span (he's wild caught). I've had him for maybe 2  weeks maximum. He's kept in a decently-sized enclosure with mesh lid that I rinse out weekly and daily empty poop/food remains. Just a few...

    Mantis Species?

! So I have two adult mantids, Donovan and Francesca, and I'd like to breed them since they're both native to my area. The only problem is I'm having issues identifying the species and if they can breed. I'm fairly sure Francesca is a Stagmomantis Californica, but I can't tell if Donovan is a...
