    Jacksons Chameleons

Went to the Sacramento show today hoping for some Jacksons chameleons, and lucked out. Came home with a nice pair, and there's a good chance the female is gravid. Already feeding on silkworms. :)

    Reach Drops Tonight

I called in to Gamestop tonight to ask if I could pick up and pay for my preorder at midnight (text said 10pm), and they told me they had around 300 preorders and people have been camping outside the store since yesterday, so unless I wanted to wait in a huge line, I'd be there by 10. I'm...

    Nobody using the chat room?

I've been gone all this time, and I come back to find the chat room is more dead than ever. If anyone else has some time to kill, come on over. I'm bored out of my mind.

    Few recent pics...

New baby villosa. Baby rafflesiana. A bunch of binata seedlings. Some lfs I've got growing on a sunny windowsill. And my seedgrown spectabilis x talangensis. Not sure if I've posted this here yet or not. More to come later...

    What in the world?

I bought a bunch of bluebottle maggots from Grubco about a week ago, maybe a few days over. They quickly pupated, and I've since been waiting for them to hatch. Well, they are overdue, so I went out to check them this morning, and found that one of my subadult female Idolomantis ended up...

    Baby Cephalotus

This little guy is growing like crazy outside. I think I'll be bringing it inside soon though, I don't want to take any chances with frost.

Found a mantis at the movies

So, went out to the movies tonight, and towards the end I felt a large bug on my shoulder and kinda freaked out. I swatted it away, thinking "OMG ROACH" and "OMG BLACK WIDOW", and I had to know what it was, so I used my cell phone to light up the seat next to me, and there was this poor little...

    Finally! Adult Idolomantis!

A big beautiful male, molted this morning. I can only imagine how big the females will be! Now just gotta wait for him to green up. :D

Some of my plants from this year

This is where most of the magic happens. Most of my plants are either recovering from sub-par windowsill conditions, or acclimating. A few are just thriving though. :) Baby N. jacquelineae. Me and a friend are comparing the growth rate between this species and another rare species, since...

    Idolomantis Cold Tolerance

All of my Idolomantis are subadults. The nights have been dropping into the mid to upper 50's lately, and I'm starting to get worried of what might happen if the temperatures reach 50F or below. Daytime temps in the mid 80's are becoming more common now. These are from Yen, and if I recall...

    SPORE, anyone?

Who else is feeling pretty hyped up for spore? Personally, I can't wait. Being the rabid fantard that I am, I pre-ordered the limited edition. For those who don't know much about spore, I suggest you check out this video - http://pc.ign.com/dor/objects/735340/spore...r_090308HD.html

    Idolomantis

I quit keeping track a couple of molts ago, but they are starting to get pretty big. This one recently molted and seems to be 1-2 molts above all the others. I can't really decide if it's a subadult or subsubadult...anyone want to take a guess?

    KOTOR II PC

I bought this recently, but it just doesn't play well on my PC. Still in great condition. I thought I'd stick it up here before going through the trouble of putting it on Ebay. PM if interested. Paypal preferred.

    Albino Gulf Fritillary

I get a newsletter from butterfliesetc.com occasionally, and thought I'd share this bit with you all. Haven't seen an albino bug since Orin's millipedes. I don't think these are "true" albinos in the way we normally think, but they have some sort of pigment deficiency...

    Brunners Nymphs

The ooth I got from Rick a while back has finally hatched. If I remember correctly, I think the date on the vial said it was laid on 10/14/07. So that's a little over 7 months. The first nymph hatched yesterday. Four more hatched this morning.
