    Damian Zielinski - leviatan

Damian is amazing! He just sent me 5 Ephestiasula pictipes ooths, and this is the third time he has sent me multiple ooths of this species. For some reason beyond my knowledge, though mine grow up and mate readily and often, their ooths just do not hatch for me. His hatch fine for me. I even...

Ordering various oothecae from Tanzania Monday 6/15

    4) Giant Flower Mantis - unusual round ooth about the size of a gumball. Genus/species? The collector in Tanzania thought they were a Creobroter species. Those I've had laid flatish, elongated oothecae, and were all from areas in Asia, not East Africa. Perhaps other members can ID this...

    Care for Mantis Eggs

Research your mantis species to find its country of origin, and if possible, the specific region, as large countries such as the US or India vary quite a bit in climate. Especially important in the temperate zones is to know in what month the nymphs would hatch, and also when they would mature...

How to know the proper conditions for a good hatch

I found this to be highly useful, and wanted to share with all. Find out the country of origin of your mantis or ootheca, and if you can, a specific region, or close-by city, as large countries such as India or USA have wide variations in climate. Then go to www.weather.com and type that in the...

Idolomantis diabolica ooths, and others to be ordered

I'm not exactly sure, sorry! That is what the collector calls them. But the ones I got (gone!) were interestingly a round ooth, whereas the ones I'm used to are thin and elongated, flat against a stem.

Idolomantis diabolica ooths, and others to be ordered

UPDATE 6/11/09: Taking orders through early Monday 6/14/09, then sending money to the collector so he can begin. Getting them to me in Atlanta takes a good couple of weeks from when he begins collecting, f.y.i. I will keep you up to date on that. I urge all buyers to select Express or Overnight...

4 species ooths straight from wild Tanzania!

Three species arrived with some ooths just hatched! None from the Giant Flower Mantis as of this very moment... These are wild-collected ooths. I now have an instant large variety of all I want of three of the four species, and want to move the rest out before I am completely overrun with more...

Heterochaeta species nymphs, while they last!

No, none available, but I am expecting an ooth soon. When I have any available again I will post them to be up for sale or trade.

    Anyone raising Idolomantis diabolicas?

Thanks. I do know about counting the segments, but with this species being so... ornate, it is difficult to sex by the eye alone just yet. I will use a small magnifying glass as it gets larger to determine its sex. I do appreciate the info, and thanks for the good wishes! Don

    Anyone raising any Idolomantis diabolicas?

I have one growing Idolomantis diabolica nymph whose sex is yet undetermined. When it is mature I will be looking for a mate for it. Is anyone else raising these, and if so, would you be interested in making pairs?

    Damian Zielinski - leviatan

Damian is a pleasure to trade with always. He is generous, reliable, and honest. I especially like the way he checks back to see how all is going with new mantises. Very friendly too. He checks in just to see what is going on with my collection from time to time. There are others in his country...
