    Powdered insects?

Is there such a thing sold as powdered insects? Reason I ask, is injured or old mantids that can’t hunt properly I find love to eat chicken or Turkey baby food. But if they made powdered insects you could just add water and make an instant insect paste to feed them instead.

    Amazing mantid survival

I found a Chinese mantis female outside a month ago solid and not moving, I thought it was dead. I placed it under a shrub and checked on it next day and it was alive in a shrub! I fed it Turkey baby food, and for a month since it’s still outside alive! It moves into direct sunlight to warm up...

    Would the ooth’s be alive?

I had mantis ooths lost in the mail for two months almost during cold weather so they stayed dormant. The shipper had them in an envelope wrapped in bubble wrap. 🤦‍♂️ Would this kill the eggs inside?

    Nobody breeds Carolina mabtids?

I've seen so few people breeding them. They are probably the most wanted mantis on this site! Simply because they are easy to raise, and people want them to release in their yards (in states they occur). Myself included I've been trying to buy the ootheca but only got imitations sent and it got...

    Mantis silk

I've heard baby mantids hatch and release silk. Spiderlings and some caterpillars do this right after hatching and the wind catches onto the silk and carries them to a new location, it's called ballooning. Is it possible for mantids to do this to reach new locations?

I live on Long Island and I've heard they can survive here. I want to buy some ootheca and release the nymphs, any way I can buy them close to june when they would normally hatch here? In my area in between houses we have all shrubs that mantids thrive in, plus an area with open fields near...

    Baby food

Does anyone feed their mantids chicken or beef baby food? They are high in protein, and especially for pregnant females really give a nutrition boost to produce larger ootheca. I've also used it for feeding weaker or injured nymphs that weren't catching as much prey as needed, the extra protein...
