I have taken so many videos of my mantids molting over the years, LOL. But I don't care, here's another! Ferdy molts to adulthood!

It usually takes about 20 minutes to come out of the exoskeleton, and about an hour for the wings to dry, I edited the video so it's only about 6 minutes long. ;-)

Nice video man! And I completely understand, I've taken numerous videos/pics of my mantids molting, catching food, and blending in with

scenery and it never gets old. lol.

Thanks! i want to try making it a bit shorter next time. Even though it takes like 20 minutes, not counting the drying of the wings, and i reduced it to 6, 6 minutes is still kind of a long time to watch a video. Id like to cut it down to 3 next time.Hahaha i know right, its kind of funny

That's awesome you see yours molt. Mine has molted 5 times now and each time was at night when I was sleeping. I would wake up and see his exoskeleton stuck somewhere. Nice video!

Most of the time mine molt at night too. I have a really hard time sleeping when i know ones about to molt. Most mismolts ive experienced happened while i was asleep. I was able to save one recently, who would have mismolted if i hadnt been woken up. So lucky. The story was, i stayed up til 5am waiting but accidentally fell asleep, then woke back up, and saw he had fallen. I held onto his feet and he molted from my hands, then i taped him up. I was trying not to sleep because by bedtime, he was definitely ready, but he kept moving. I think he kept moving because he was missing most of one of his legs and so felt he wasnt secure. Well i guess he was right because he fell. Im so lucky that hes alive and in good shape right now!
