i woke up to my male adult spiny flower mantis dead it was so sad and unexpected i have know idea why. i havnt had flys for him in a few days but i didnt think he starved. he was drinking eating honey and acting fine the night before. any ideas i still have an adult female so this is really buming me out.

How old was he? My males typically live 3 - 4 months. The males don't eat that much. So, he should have been OK without food for a few days.

Did you already mate your female?

i got him in the mail 2 weeks ago. i didt think he has been an adult for that long maybe an infection got to him

the paper towels that he had were cheap and got moldy so much fast than the others

the female just molted a week ago so i never got a opportunity to mate.

This is how I pinned him.

This is my first bug pin ever so don't expect much.

He's in the freezer now.

RIP little one

So sorry to read this Ax. Though I did LOL when I read Sally's interpretation of RIP. Don't think I could do this to Nikki Mantis. She will have a funeral pyre aboard a great boat drifting down River Styx.
