Back after a year hiatus!

Hey everyone. 

My last mantid passed away roughly a year ago to date, and I have been busy thus far... have a lady friend who is interested in weird pets and I was thinking about Mantids again. I also saw some at a pet store (Giant asians for $24.99?) 

What species should I go for this round? I was thinking Heirodula or Soph. just because they get very large and it'd impress her. Any suggestions are welcome!

I personally love Violins but I'm definitely bias towards them. D. Lobatas, Cats Eye, venosas, Orchid females are all pretty large. The mega mantis is probably the largest I've ever had and they have such a sweet disposition.

Welcome back! There are plenty of friendly, large, cool-looking species out there, but I'd suggest a shield mantis, budwing, double shield, dead leaf, etc.
