Help me ID the ***

I need some help, as I am fairly new to this. I have 4 polyspilota griffinii that have all reached adulthood in the past week. They look so darn similar, I don't know what I have for genders.

One and two are kinda hard to see but i think they both are males

You can tell by the abdomen segments. 8 for a male 6 for a female

Thanks for the help! I wasn't expecting them to look so similar as adults, and some of the segments weren't terrible clear for me to identify. Also, I got them when they were older nymphs and never knew the exact instar. Thanks again!

females have longer wings than pretty much any other species xD

Good to know. Is there a good reference for species specific info like that? Besides here of course. I have re-examined them all, and can now confirm the 3 males, 1 female. Earlier on, I thought I had 2 and 2.

So the female has a lot of green, and one male is very green. If I want to produce more with green coloration, is it safe to assume that I should pair these two? The other two males have always been very brown.

no, sorry to burst your buble, but mantid coloration cant be bred, their genetics call for being able to change it, not keep one single color

No bubble burst, I had no idea...just using the logic I use with fish and coral. This is my female a couple days ago.

Still a pretty girl.

she is a true green form though, so it may retain some green.
