I am going on a trip sometime in the future and need help!

Hello, I am going to go on a trip somewhere in the future and am going to be leaving my mantis at home I don’t have anyone who could care for it. I would be gone for 8 days. Can you tell me what I should do to make sure it survives until then?

If you do a good feeding the day before you leave, they should be OK. A well fed mantis can survive easily for 8 days without food. Very young nymphs are a different story. What species and instar is your mantis? What type of feeders do you use?

My mantis is a giant Asian shield mantis. It is most likely L5-L6 it is unknown exactly. I use moths and flies.

Yeah... if your mantis is in good health a good feeding before you leave should be fine. I've had specimens refuse food much longer than 8 days with no issues. Have a great trip!
