Greetings,
First post! After 4 years...
I have found Mantoida maya interesting for a long time now. They're a very elusive species carrying such little research with them. I don't see really any topic dedicated to their care here on this forum. There are some tid bits of information here and there but that's it. I know this species is short-lived, but being this is a phylogenetically basal mantis in the US (and perhaps even THE basal extant mantis), there should be some interest in it. Although, last I heard, they were very sensitive mantises, probably need some specific requirements, and early stages are extremely tiny, possibly only feeding on springtails and like-sized arthropods.
And yes I know about them being in the dry Florida habitats.
Were there any updates on this? In any case, hopefully this thread may serve as a sort of information hub for this species.
