Hmmm looks photoshopped to me. Of and they got the ID wrong it is a Blepharopsis.

 
it was on the UK forum if I'm not mistaken. if my memory is also not as bad as I believe it is, then the person changed some colors in the enclosure to reach this effect of the mantid...but I have no idea if even something like that can be done by just visuals.

Saw this a while ago. It can be done by keeping the mantids' surroundings purple
What study or basis do you have to make this claim? The concept that mantid colors can be influenced by the colors in their surroundings is false but I'd love to be proven wrong.
