Hi, I’m from Malaysia , I got my mantis on 6 Jan 2022, started on 12 Oct (few days ago) she barely move, not eating and not drinking, then the following days she is like dying stage moving less but at some point can see she still try to move but no strength at all. Can see her abdomen have breathing movement, it slow down day by day. Last night 14 Oct, there is some brown liquid keep coming out from her mouth 😭
Her current condition is the 2 little “tales” is moving a bit, and very weak breathing movement at the end of abdomen.

Should I just put her in freezer to let her sleep? Is this way the cold will make them uncomfortable?
I’m absolutely heartbroken seeing her like fighting 😭😭😭 she is my first mantis - Mantao

Hope you can give some advise
Thank you

i have put minced meat-chicken(from fozen food with no sauce on it etc)
no greasy stuff
or pellet food
probably could use fish flakes if you had to

in springwater or reverse osmosis or distilled water
no tapwater it has chlorine

make it sort of watery not like runny oatmeal
if to weak them make watery-ier
thats what ive had to do
make it runnier over last couple days
always offer just plain water thru day
she will accept it if/asneeded

kinda like a protein drink
also -actually i did this first
but then she got to weak for this
try tearing a mealworm in half
and hold the liquidy inside parts to her mouth
she cant/wont eat the outside hard part anymore probably
as she cant hold it and is further along

since she cant hold it you will need to squeeze more out as she gets done
if she cant chew that at all
do the water and bug/meat etc. 'milk-shake' method
like i said above
a mix of water with one or more of the following
bug guts /pellet/fish flakes/chicken (really smashed into powder almost) etc with water etc

i offer plain water in betwenn thru the day-same process
i started with flat popsickle put the liquid on like a bubble
i could watch it get smaller as she ingested it
but it only holds small drop from tension so...
or better still and what i now use..
a tiny 1/8 measuring spoon
is better to put their mouth into

watch the mouth parts move
mine took a bit to get the hang of it
and each time i 'feed' her touch to the mouth few times
to get her ready/used to it
hold under against the mouth they will drink it-
hold it there a long time they need fluid and she is big
they will lift head on occaison-but keep putting it there

until they really move head /up or away
or mouth parts stop moving
but they will take breaks so try multiple times
its worse to stop if she wanted more/was resting/swallowing
then to leave it to long
she will just stop drinking it if its enough whether you can tell or not
they dont need to move though much and she can still be drinking anyways
you can pull it away slowly till surface tendsion breaks
then watch to see if she slowly pulls the drop in left on/under her mouth
to get an idea if she is possibly done for that round

they take longer to drink when old like everything else
she cant drown they breath thru the body openings
i am doing the same with a mantis right now
she cannot move but her head
and does so when i feed her
keep her warm-
but dont dehydrate her
offer the water/food couple times a day
as they will take smaller amounts rather than all at once
unfortunatley she will still pass at some point
but helping her along helps her
but also helps you feel better
knowing you did what you could
helping her in the last days
good luck
sorry i just noted the time you posted im probably to late but will leave this maybe it will help others?
*added-
dont use a human protien shake powder(like whey/soy) though it is to thick and sticky and probably constipate them
I know everyone doesn't have time to do this for their animals because it can be time consuming
but i do; at this point at least, have the time so/do.

Hey friend, dont be sorry, I'm sincerely thank you for all the advises in details. That is really useful still.
I hope she did had a happy life living with me and my husband. She gonna be missed forever.

By the way, do you preserve any of your mantid/mantis? if you can share the instruction how you do it will be very much appreciated.
I placed her in Freezer currently. Looking for a solution to preserve her body, i got some advise from Agent A.
Because her stomach is very rotund, I'm worries it will rot if didn't handle or freeze dry properly.
I hope can find a good way to preserve her around but without needed any brutal process like cut-remove or boiling :..(

I take a far more Kevorkian approach to rearing. Things that aren't breezin' get to freezin' :)

If you really want a low-tech way to preserve her, get a big enough mason jar and some rubbing alcohol and keep her in it with the rubbing alcohol :)

Hi agent A! Cool, you must have a lot of tips to share!

I see, meaning soaking in a mason jar with a rubbing alcohol?
but as per Your advise , alcohol will caused the color change compare acetone?
