There is mold growing on the food I made for my fruit flies! I used a potato flakes recipe. What do I do and is it ok if I have nothing in the deli cu except the food for the fruit flies? Thx.

@Mantis Man13 I have had mold in a culture , tossed it out and started fresh , you want good food for the feeders.
Did you say you had nothing but the food in the cup ? There should be something for the flies to roost on and the nymphs to migrate to for hatching . I like the wood excelsior ..... some use screen .... S

But I put the food in 3 days ago and it is already moldy. Can someone tell me a recipe that wont mold? Thx.

May I suggest a forum search. There are many threads dealing with this problem. There is a balance between the yeast and the mold and the flies.
