So, I can see that no one has started a thread for telling people what species you have, or at least as far as I can tell. So here it goes:

12/5/11 entry.

1st generation existing:

Tenodera sinensis

Thesprotia graminis

1st generation coming soon:

Stagmomantis carolina

Raising:

Pnigomantis medioconstricta

Creobroter pictipennis

Sphodromantis sp. "Blue Flash"

Stagmomantis carolina

Thesprotia graminis

Tenodera sinensis

Just oothecae:

Tenodera angustipennis

Mantis religiosa

Being shipped to me:

Popa spurca

P.S. would this be a good idea to "sticky"?

just one thing. one generation means you have bread them and have babies.

ismart, I may be begging you out of a male cilnia some day soon ;)

How hard are they to breed?
You are not the first to ask me for a pair. :p I wish i could spare you one, but i only have 4 males. This may not seem to bad, but my 20 females need lovein too!

They can be a pain to breed. Females can be very aggressive at times. I consider myself lucky i bred them for so many generations.

Here's my current list of mantids. I need to stop looking at the ads and getting tempted. ;)

Phyllovates chlorophaea (Texas Unicorn Mantis) - 5 (4 adults; 1 sub adult)

Pseudocreobotra wahlbergii - 12 adults

Idolomantis diabolica - 17 (L2, L3, L4, adults)

Blepharopsis mendica - approximately 104 (100 L1 nymphs; 4 adults)

Phyllocrania paradoxa (Ghost) - 17 (1 adult and the rest nymphs)

Creobroter sp - approximately 30 L1 nymphs; 1 adult male

Hymenopus coronatus (Orchid) - 2 adults

Sphodromantis sp "Blue Flash" - 2 adults

Sinomantis denticulata - 2 subadults

Oxyopsis gracilis - approximately 15 (L5, L6 nymphs)

Hierodula majuscula (Australia giant mantis) - 3 nymphs

Rhombodera cf. stallii (Shield mantis) - 4 nymphs

Pnigomantis Medioconstricta (Double Shield mantis) - 1 nymph

So here goes...

Budwings

Popa spurca

Omomantis zebrata

Hierodula multispina

Hierodula majuscula

Sphodromantis viridis

Sphodromantis lineola

Sphodromantis "Blue Flash"

Ghosts
