Do ooths from tropical mantids hatch in very short periods of time? I have heard some say that they incubate them for a few days before they hatch. When I had ooths from carolinas when I was a kid, I remember they wouldn't hatch over the entire winter. They would be sitting around long enough that I would forget about them until my room was suddenly full of nymphs in the spring. Is this because I kept them at room temperature/humidity? Or do tropical mantid ooths quickly all year round, because the temerature remains hot and humid all year round in those regions?
