Hello all, this is my first post. can someone explain nymph vs L1, L2 L3 L4...? i am having a hard time telling how many times they have molted. do you keep a list of molts as you go? what if you lose track, how do you size them?

L1-means first shed L2-second shed and so on

As I have said in another post, L1 is when the mantis FIRST emerges from the ootheca. It will immediately shed out of it (prelarvae I think) in L2.
